![]() ![]() The only disk utility software developer from that period not bought up and squashed by Symantec is Alsoft. Symantec has never been anything but huge, sluggish, indifferent and inaccessible to customers, and indiscriminately omnivorous. I owned and used all their products in the pre-Symantec days. Everything that was part of Norton Utilities for the Mac, back when it worked, had been developed by Central Point Software, Fifth Generation Systems, Public Utilities, and half a dozen other terrific little companies that were responsive to users, kept up with changes in the Mac OS, and generally looked alive and alert until Symantec gobbled them up. All Symantec has ever done for the Mac is swallow up great little independent software developers (including Dave Winer's Living Videotext) and kill their products. Note that the author of that site you linked, who is otherwise performing a useful service, misattributes the development of MORE (and perhaps other good deeds) to Symantec - a major and laughable error. Now is up and running fine, I'm happy to see. Crystal Crazy is an arcade game with astonioshingly unique added features, a sequel to Crystal Quest. I went to that site yesterday, and all the links there to (as well as my old bookmark to it) were dead then. Get new version of Crystal Crazy for Mac. ![]()
